Connie Sacco, the mother of an American woman who has gone missing in Nepal since 2010, says her daughter could still be alive and believes the police are not doing enough to find her.
Aubrey Caroline Sacco, 25, who was on a trek in Lantang National Park, has been missing since April 12.
“Unless we get proof that will establish the death of my daughter, I´ll believe that she is alive. And our family is not going to give up till the end,” said Mrs. Sacco.
This is the second time that family members of the missing American have came to Nepal to pressure Nepali authorities to find her. Sacco is currently holding meetings with high-level police officers and government authorities.
“My daughter is missing and we can´t do anything without the police because we are guests in Nepal. But the police personnel are acting as if they don´t know anything,” said a disappointed Sacco. “The police authorities were persuaded to intensify their search last year also but nothing has been done since two years,” she adds.
